psychedelic 60's (retro party)
Tie Dye, VW Bug, peace sign, flower child, hippie, go-go boots, flower power...just a few words to describe the psychedelic 60's. Here are some groovy ideas for hosting a "60's" party.

For invitations: You can make your own by using cardstock, decorate with rubber stamps, stickers, markers, etc... draw smiley faces, peace symbols... add "Please join us for a groovy time!" .. another great idea- if possible, find old magazines from the 60's (with photos of the fashion, etc.. ) and photocopy them and glue to the front of the cards.

Activities: Create a 'dance hall' by decorating in 60's retro and playing 60's party music

You could also have a contest for the grooviest outfit. Have fun with it!

Have a 60's trivia contest... winners receive beaded necklaces, smiley keyrings, 'John Lennon' glasses, peace buttons...

Use lava lamps for mood lighting

Find vintage posters from the 60's to adorn the walls.

Hang Tie Dye Gossamer for backdrops.

Create an area for picture taking with painted backdrop with peace signs, flowers, "peace", "love", and the like. Fill a basket of accessories with glasses, stick-on sideburns, vintage hats, sunglasses, etc... or purchase a hand painted background with accessories on etsy.

Play 60's music and make a space for a dance floor.

Set up a tie dye section to make their own t-shirts.

Serve tie dye cupcakes and pychedelic green punch.

Serve cocktail meatballs, and fondue.

​Hire Dj and have him ask trivia questions throughout the evening.
