How To: Graduation Card Box
It's easy to create a graduation open house card box with a few simple supplies. It's also great to be able to customize the box to match school colors or party theme.
To make this one, you will need a large shoe box, and smaller box to go on top, scotch tape, two-sided tape, scissors, wrapping paper, 3 small balloons (the ones on sticks), a sharpie, adhesive ribbon (like Smash), and 2 packages of stick on letters (small and larger).
1.) Cut a slot in the middle top of the smaller box. cut the bottom out of that same box.
2.) Now get the large shoebox. Cut a large square about the size of the bottom of the smaller box (in the middle of the top so that the smaller box will sit right on top).
3.) Tape the large shoebox closed around all of the edges.
4.) It's helpful to use a Sharpie to draw on the wrapping paper where to cut prior to wrapping the boxes.
5.) Now wrap both boxes separately with the wrapping paper, taping to the inside where the slots are.
6.) Once both boxes are wrapped, use adhesive ribbon to outline the slot on the smaller box.
7.) Use smaller letters to say "thank you".
8.) Use larger stick on letters to say Congratulations ___________; and maybe even the year "2014".
9.) poke a hole where you want the balloons to stick out. Use scissors closed to poke the hole and turn them to make the right size.
10.) Use about a 4" piece of double stick tape to wrap around the little plastic base of the balloon. Poke them into the holes. It should fit perfectly and not want to come out.
11.) Use double stick tape to attach the smaller box to the large shoebox. The cards should go in easily through the top smaller box.
And that's it- super easy and you can customize it any way that you want!
