"OOhhhh, we're off to see the wizard... the wonderful Wizard of Oz!"  If you are a big Wizard of Oz fan, or your child is, you just must have a Wizard of Oz birthday party!  Here are some Wizard of Oz party supplies, ideas, tips, and Wizard of Oz items that will help you to host a fun Wizard of Oz party!

You can also use solid partyware in pinks and purples.
  •  Decorate your home/yard like a haunted forest, or Munchkinland, complete with a yellow brick road (made from yellow posterboard...) leading to the party area....

  • Ask a friend with a good sense of fun to dress up as the wicked witch, and have the children try and "melt" her with water guns and water balloons....

  • play music from the original soundtrack and play musical chairs and hot potato...

  • Let the guest of honor (if she is a girl) dress up in a cute Dorothy costume, give her a picnic basket to carry, filled with party favors (Wizard of Oz badge of courage ~ see photo to the left) to hand out to all of her guests...

  • Mom (or grandma) of guest, can dress up too, like the pretty Glinda (the good witch) to welcome party guests.
