Decorate your home/yard like a haunted forest, or Munchkinland, complete with a yellow brick road (made from yellow posterboard...) leading to the party area....

Ask a friend with a good sense of fun to dress up as the wicked witch, and have the children try and "melt" her with water guns and water balloons....
