Need ideas to plan your favorite spacekid's birthday party? Here you will find some fun ideas for decorating "outer-space style", fun rocket party favors and/or invitations, recipes, links and much more...
|
Invitations
- Decorate cardstock with outer space stickers and silver glitter. Word invitation as such: "Greetings earthling...", "Please join us for an 'out of this world' space party! We will have a BLAST!"
- If you are feeling especially creative...make rocket invitations (they will have to be hand-delivered, but so worth it!). Just collect the cardboard tubes from your rolls of paper towel (enough for each guest). Paint them white. Glue a white cone-shaped cup to the end of each tube. In marker, write in "USA" or "NASA", and the guest's name. You can also glue orange, yellow, and red curly ribbon to the opposite end of the cone to look like flames. Type party information on a sheet of paper (make copies) and roll and insert into "rocket".
Decorations
- Use black, dark purple, silver and dark blue for colors.
- Recreate your "science project" from grade school! Make a mobile of the solar system and hang as a centerpiece for the main table.
Party Favors
- If you didn't use the paper towel tube rocket above for invitations, this is a great idea for party favors, as well. Just create the rocket as shown above, and fill with small trinkets, such as: mini Milky Way bars, Mar's bars, Starburst, & glow-in-the-dark toys
- glow stick
- galaxy hi-bounce ball
- space stickers.
- You could also hand out freeze dried ice cream -just like the astronauts eat!

Menu
Serve star sandwiches: Core and coarsely chop 1 red apple. Place chopped apple, 1/3 cup honey, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in food processor or blender. Blend until all has been mixed and is smooth and spreadable. Using a butter knife, spread about 1 tablespoon on 2 slices of bread. Stack them together spread side up. Top with 3rd slice of bread. Place star cookie cutter on top, press down firmly. Remove trimmings while cutter is still in place. Remove cookie cutter. Makes enough for about 10 sandwiches.
Cupcakes with space candy: Make cake mix of choice, using the silver foil cupcake liners. Decorate the tops with dark blue frosting. Add space candy (Wilton has a Space Mission Lollipop Mold). The Partyworks has Wilton cake and candy making supplies.. see link to the right.
