Serve a fresh salad with all of the fixins from your garden.  There is nothing better than fresh tomatos, peppers, cucumbers, etc. from your garden. A creative alternative to salad tongs would be to use garden tools (new and sterlized, of course!).  Your guests will love it!

Make homemade Italian Herb Dressing:

In a jar, combine 2/3 cup olive or vegetable oil; 1/3 cup Wine Vinegar; 1 clove garlic (split); 1 Tspn dry mustard; 1/2 Tspn each salt, dried basil leaves, dried oregano leaves; and 1/4 Tspn crushed red pepper.  Put lid on jar and shake vigorously.  Chill to blend flavors, then shake again before serving.  Makes 1 cup.

Also serve rolls, fresh fruit, iced sun tea and homemade lemonade.

You could also serve chilled white wine served in wine glasses and use wine glass markers in a garden theme.  Keep bottles of wine cool in a vintage steel tub filled with ice.

Decorations

Decorate your picnic tables with country gingham and bright linen tablecloths and use fresh wildflowers in vases for centerpieces.  Wrap raffia around the neck of the vase for a country look.
