This whimsical flower party was inspired by one of our readers and we wanted to share it with you. Polka dots, fun colors, whimsy, and of course...flowers are featured. Here are some ideas for handmade invitations, decorations, activities, party favors and more!
Invitations
Make your own, using cardstock and polka dot stickers. You could also take a photo of your child, surrounded by flowers (in a flower field, holding flowers, etc.) have developed in black and white, and make copies (one for each invitation). Adhere to front of card. Write party invitation on the inside of card.

Decorations
Use small terra cotta pots for place settings. Put small foam circle in bottom of each. Make flower (cookie) suckers. See link to right. Stick one in the foam insert of each pot. Take a piece of green tissue paper, wrinkle up and stick in to hide foam. *cute* and the kids love 'em!
Use a plastic tablecover and stick (contact paper) polka dots all over for decoration.
Use the Daisy Smiles tableware from Birthday in a Box, see above. Use also the solid plates in lavender, light blue, and pale pink. |
Menu
Polka dot and flower fruit kabobs: Slice watermelon and cut flowers out with small cookie cutter. Use a melon baller to make cantaloupe 'polka dots'. Place on wooden skewers. You may serve with a cream cheese/marshmellow cream dip.

Activities
Musical Dots! Just like musical chairs, but with polka dots! Use contact paper in a fun print and draw circles (using a bowl to draw trace around). Stick circles on the floor in a large circle.

Face painting (ask a teen or adult to help out with this...)
