Make your own!
- Homeade chocolate suckers in the shape of ducks, lambs, rattles, teddy bears and more-- wrap with cellophane and tie with pretty pastel bows....(try Wilton Candies- "New Arrival" and "Noah's Ark" lollipop plastic molds)
- Small picture frames with a baby poem inside.... (see below for baby shower poem)
- Cut circles (approx 6" diameter) out of baby fabric with pinking shears, fill with mints, etc.., and tie with shear 1/2" wide ribbon.. can also tie a tiny plastic 'trinket', such as pacifier, baby bottle, safety pin-
- Purchase inexpensive plain glass votive holders and paint small designs with pastel paint pens...add a pastel matching votive...wrap with cellophane and tie with pretty bow.... you could also use baby food jars, just peel the label off and wash out. Then tie about a 1/2" wide ribbon around the top (you can hot glue the ribbon on if it doesn't want to stay on good).
- Another use for those used baby food jars... use as nut, mint, or candy jars for tabletops. Again, just peel label off and add a cute ribbon, and you've got an instant candy dish and goes with the theme!
- Make small sugar cutout cookies shaped like baby ducks, blocks, rattles, etc.. Frost and let dry completely.
Next, stack three or four in a clear cellophane bag and secure with a pastel gingham ribbon. Use these for party favors for each guest.
...another great filler for the cellophane bags-- is to simply melt white chocolate (they sell them in a bag of discs at most craft stores), dip mini pretzels halfway in the chocolate and then dip in "confetti" sprinkles...after dipping, lay to dry on waxed paper. After they have dried, fill cellophane bags with approx. 6 or 8 pretzels. Tie with pretty bow.
